Here is the teaser for Alex Ross Perry’s (The Color Wheel) new film Listen Up, Philip before its debut at the 2014 Sundance Film Festival. The film stars Jason Schwartzman, Elisabeth Moss, Jonathan Pryce, Krysten Ritter, Josephine de La Baume, Jess Weixler, Dree Hemingway, Keith Poulson, and Eric Bogiosan.
Listen Up, Philip is about a self-infatuated
author (Schwartzman), who is awaiting for the publication of his “sure-to-succeed second
novel.” Problems with his girlfriend (Moss) and lack of interest in promoting his
novel push Philip into the isolated house of idol (Pryce), where he once again is able to focus on what he truly loves, himself.
The teaser is an odd one, as the
characters in Philip’s life speak directly into the camera, i.e. you.
Listen Up, Philip Official
Synopsis:
Anger rages in Philip (Jason
Schwartzman) as he awaits the publication of his sure-to-succeed second novel.
He feels pushed out of his adopted home city by the constant crowds and noise,
a deteriorating relationship with his photographer girlfriend Ashley (Elisabeth
Moss), and his own indifference to promoting the novel. When Philip’s idol Ike Zimmerman (Jonathan
Pryce) offers his isolated summer home as a refuge, he finally gets the peace
and quiet to focus on his favorite subject—himself.
