According to THR, director Denis Villeneuve (Prisoners) has been tapped to direct the adaptation of Ted Chiang’s Nebula winning short story, Story of Your Life.
The short story is centered on a
linguistic hired by the US government to help decipher the Aliens intentions, which
have landed around the World. “As she learns to communicate with the aliens,
she begins experiencing vivid flashbacks that become the key to unlocking the
greater mystery about the true purpose of their visit.”
This project should be the next
in line for the director after he finishes Enemy with Jake Gyllenhaal.
