In March of last year we reported
that the Wachowski brothers and J. Michael Straczynski (Babylon 5) were teaming
up for a Netflix series sci-fi drama titled Sense8, but now that the series is
getting ready to start a worldwide (UK, Seoul, Mumbai, Nairobi, Berlin, Mexico City,
San Francisco and Chicago among others), there are a bit more of news to give.
According to TvLine, Sense8 will
focus on eight people living in different parts of the World, who are connected
by shared ominous vision. Each episode will be centered on one of these characters
and their stories, while one mysterious being attempts to unite them while the other
tries to kill them.
Here is a description of the characters:
“a closeted Mexican telenovela
hunk, an Icelandic party girl, a German safe-cracker, a Korean businesswoman,
an African bus driver and a transgender American blogger. Perhaps most
intriguing, though, are Jonas, an apparently magic African-American who appears
to all of the “visionaries,” and his evil counterpart, Mr. Whispers.”
Since production is set to start
in June, casting choices should start appearing anytime now.
