Two days ago we reported that
actor Donal Logue had been offered the role of yet to be Commissioner Gordon
in the upcoming Gotham series. After the new broke out the actor responded immediately
saying "Not true!" he writes back after a fan asked him about his
potential involvement in the series. "I wish-would be awesome (but who
could top Gary Oldman?) From what I heard, Gotham catches Gordon in his late
20's."
Well now things seem to have
taken a slight turn, because apparently the actor was indeed offered a role in
the series not to play James Gordon but to play Detective Harvey Bullock, which
the show’s pilot describes as being in his 40s and acting as a mentor for the
young Gordon.
In the comic world, Detective
Harvey Bullock is grey, meaning he is known for sometimes taking bribes,
beating up suspects or sabotaging Gordon’s work, while other times he acts like
the “bad cop” who is trusted by Gordon.
We’ll see which if not both
versions end up on the small screen and if whether or not Logue will take on
the role.
