HV is reporting that Chris Pine
is attached to star in the “gritty thriller” Line directed by David Gordon
Green and penned by The Walking Dead scribe Sang Kyu Kim. In Line Pine is set
to star as a border patrol agent on a downward spiral after the loss of his
wife and son, until he suddenly finds himself taking care of a ten year old
child orphan after a shootout with a cartel. Pine goes on the run with the boy,
while protecting him from enemies from both sides of the law and border.
After a brief stint with studio
comedies, like Pineapple Express, Your Highness, and The Sitter, Gordon Green
returned to his indie roots with the small scale Prince Avalanche, starring Paul
Rudd and Emile Hirsch, Joe, starring Nicholas Cage and his most recent work
Manglehorn starring Al Pacino.
As for Pine he just finished
shooting the upcoming Disney musical Into the Woods and Horrible Bosses 2 and
will next be seen in Joe Carnahan’s action comedy Stretch. Pine should also
return to Star Trek 3, which should begin production later this year or early
next one.
