For the past few weeks actress Emilia Clarke from Game of Thrones was rumored to be in the lead to play Sarah Connor in the upcoming Terminator reboot, well now it has been confirmed that the actress will indeed be playing the iconic role. The actress will reunite with her director from Game of Thrones, Alan Taylor in is rumored to be titled Terminator: Genesis.
Schwarzenegger is expected to return to reprise his
role, and actor Jason Clarke is currently in talks to play the John Connor
part. Since both Clarke and Clarke are of similar age and will possibly be
playing mother and son we can expect some sort of time travel to be involved in
the film.
At this time
there isn’t much to say about the film, except that it will tie in directly
with a TV series that is currently being developed.
“The TV series will follow a critical moment from the
first Terminator film (1984) and, where the film’s story goes one way, the
upcoming series will take the same moment in a completely different direction.
As the rebooted film trilogy and the new TV series progress, the two narratives
will intersect with each other in some surprising and dramatic ways.”
The new Terminator film will be the first of a new
trilogy and is expected to hit theaters on July 1st, 2015.
