After having some possible plot details leaked online, Pirate of the Caribbean: Dead Man Tell No Tales is once again in the spotlight. This time in addition to new possible plot details, comes rumors of some possible names to star in this new installment in the franchise.
Kon-Tiki’s directors Joachim Rønning and Espen
Sandberg are helming the new installment and I think it’s safe to assume that
Johnny Depp will return to his iconic pirate role as Captain Jack Sparrow, and
now three names have surfaced, Keith Richards, Christoph Waltz, Geoffey Rush
and Rebecca Hall.
As for Richards, Mail Online says that they landed an
exclusive interview with the musician, in which he says he will return to play Captain
Teague, Jack Sparrows father. They also say that actor Christoph Waltz as
expressed his interest in playing Captain Brand (see below), and that Geoffey
Rush “is a go to reprise his role as Barbosa”. As for Rebecca Hall, BC reports
that the studio is interested in the actress to play Carina Smyth (see below).
These are the plot details that the website gives,
which are very similar to those previously, leaked.
- Jack and his team are in search of The Trident, which Keith [Richards'] Teague holds valuable information to.
- The villain this time is Captain Brand… [he] wants the Trident so he can get his revenge on Jack.
- Brand believes Jack turned his brother Eric into a pirate, which led to his death.
- Also in Dead Men Tell No Tales, Jack becomes enchanted by Barbosa’s daughter, Carina Smyth.
- She’s a beautiful woman in her late 30s who is called a witch by some but is really an adept astronomer.
Pirate of the Caribbean: Dead Man Tell No Tales is
expected to start production early next year.
