Activision and Marvel Entertainment revealed today the teaser trailer for The Amazing Spider-Man 2 video game that will be released alongside the movie.
The
game was developed by Beenox, who also gave us last year’s The Amazing Spider-Man.
The new game continues on where the previous game left off, taking an alternative
take on the events of the upcoming movie.
"The
first 'The Amazing Spider-Man' game gave players their own beautifully
animated, free-roaming city of Manhattan to traverse and explore – a playground
of majestic scale in which to live out our common hero fantasies," said
Thomas Wilson, Co-Studio Head of Beenox. "And the overwhelming message
from fans was: 'MORE!' That's what our team is working toward with 'The Amazing
Spider-Man 2' – we're giving gamers more abilities, more upgrades, more
challenges, and more freedom to progress. And with the game launching alongside
the new movie, offering an expanded interactive experience beyond the film,
fans of the franchise won't want to miss playing it."
Like
the last game, the story will be set in the same universe as the movie, but in
a unique way.
Once
again gamers will be able to free roam through a new and enhanced Manhattan
cityscape. There is a new feature in the game called “Hero or Menace” in which
the player, aka Spider-Man is either rewarded or penalized for the action taken
upon the criminals, simply putted, catch the criminals and get upgrades or some
other kind of bonus, let them be and pay the price.
As
stated The Amazing Spider-Man 2 video game will be launched alongside the
feature film, and will be available on Ps4, Ps3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, Nintendo
Wii U and Nintendo 3DS, and as well in Windows PC.
