Former NFL player turned beloved actor Terry Crews best known for playing Julius on Everybody Hates Chris, The Newsroom, Arrested Development, The Expendables and of course those hilarious Old Spice commercials. Crews usually plays a though guy with a soft interior, which is complemented by his badass physique, and these qualities are some of things that superheroes have and yet, at this point at least he hasn’t been approach to do one, what gives Hollywood?
In a
recent interview, Crews said that he would like to play The Thing from Fantastic
Four, Colossus from the X-Men or create new superhero.
“One
character I always thought I could play is the Thing from Fantastic Four,”
Crews said. “Another character I’ve always loved as a fan is Colossus. If there
was a way to make that happen that worked, I would love to be Colossus.”
But
Crews knows that he can't just lung into a role without some kind of approval.
“You
can’t make yourself President; the people make you the President. If people
want me to be a part of this superhero genre, it’ll happen. People get what
they want."
But
that doesn’t mean that he won’t play a superhero even if no big movie casts him
in a role.
"I
feel like we need to make new superheroes, African-American superheroes, that
people would accept. Whatever I do, it has to be right – for me, for the
character, and for the fans.”
