Director Juan Carlos Fresnadillo has been bouncing from project to project since 2007 when he directed Intruders, starring Clive Owen. Some years ago Fresnadillo was attached to helm two franchise reboots, The Crow and Highlander, but ended up helming none. Now however comes news that he is once again set to direct another reboot/remake.
According
to Variety, the director is poised to make a remake of Paramount’s Pet
Sematary, which was based on a novel by author Stephen King. The story revolves
around a family that moves next to a cemetery and that’s when they discover
that the cemetery can bring it’s dead creature back to life.
The 1989
adaptation by Mary Lambert was a success, grossing $57 million on an $11
million budget.
