Despite last week’s scare, that Simon Kinberg (X-Men: DOFP) was brought in to rewrite the script, 20th Century Fox seems to be moving full steam ahead on the Fantastic Four reboot, with Josh Trank from Chronicle onboard as director and Matthew Vaughn and Kinberg as producers.
Fox
is trying so hard to move on with the project, that despite the unfinished
script they are offering screen test to actors for the lead roles. Over the
past year names like Elizabeth Olson and Allison Williams have surfaced, but
now a new list of actors has appeared.
Per Variety
Kit Harington (Game of Thrones), Miles Teller (The Spectacular Now) and Jack O’Connell
(300: Rise of an Empire) are testing for Reed Richards, aka Mr. Fantastic, with
Saoirse Ronan (Hanna), Margot Robbie (The Wolf of Wall Street) and Kate Mara (House
of Cards) testing for Sue Storm, aka Invisible Woman.
So
far the only name for the Johnny Storm, aka Human Torch role was Michael B.
Jordan, who previously collaborated with Trank on Chronicle.
As for
Ben Grimm, aka The Thing no names have surfaced except Terry Crews who said
that he was interested in the part.
If
any of these fine actors are chosen for the movie, there might be some scheduling
issues, since Fox wants to start production in early 2014 and with O’Connell leading
Angelina Jolie’s historical drama, Unbroken, which starts shooting this
December and Ronan who has admitted that she had tested for J.J. Abrams’ Star
Wars: Episode VII, which also starts shooting in early 2014 there might not be
enough time for both projects.
