Here at GN1 we don’t usually hit the mark, but it seems that this time it’s almost bull’s eye. In a previous post we talked about actor Ben Kingsley revelation that he had filmed “a secret Marvel project.”
At the
time we said that there was a possibility that he would return to his pointless
character of a drug addict actor named Trevor Slattery, aka fake Mandarin of
Iron Man 3 for a Marvel One-Shot, and by the end (after bad mouthing the
character) of the post we stipulated that it could be possible that Slattery
was a fake and that Kingsley was really the Mandarin. Well it was close.
Today
it seems that a new rumor and potential spoiler has surfaced. YOU HAVE BEEN
WARNED
According
to the LR, who is usually spot on these things, says that in the rumored One-Shot
featuring Ben Kingsley, the real Mandarin is extremely upset with both Killian
(Guy Pearce) and Slattery (Kingsley)
“The
REAL Mandarin is furious with Aldrich Killian and Ben Kingsley’s character
Trevor Slattery for the mockery they made of the real Mandarin’s identity and
legacy. The real Mandarin wants to set
the record straight. Yes, the REAL
Mandarin.”
Now,
I think that the decision of making a fake Mandarin was one of the most stupid
ideas have seen in a long time, but someone must have liked it since the film was
such a huge success at the box-office.
If
this rumor is true, then could it be a small attempt at correcting the problem?
Could it be that Marvel despite having all of their movies planned out years in
advance gave in to the fans criticism and toke a small shortcut to make emends?
Well it’s wait and see.
