Tom Hiddleston Replaces Benedict Cumberbatch In Guillermo del Toro's Crimson Peak

Since actor Benedict Cumberbatch left Guillermo del Toro’s Crimson Peak to maybe star in The Lost City of Z and/or the new Star Wars installment, a hole was created, which has now been covered.

According to Legendary, actor Tom Hiddleston (Thor, The Avengers, War Horse and Midnight in Paris) is set to play the character that Cumberbatch left, and star opposite actress Jessica Chastain. Both actors are going to play siblings in what del Toro described as being a “classical gothic romance ghost story” and “very set-oriented, classical but at the same time modern take on the ghost story. It will allow me to play with the conventions of the genre I know and love, and at the same time subvert the old rules.”
