The majority of video games based on movies are terrible, awful, hideous and just plain bad so it doesn’t come has a surprise when the video game based on the popular Star Trek Into Darkness movie gets out and starts getting bad press, but what is bad is when the director of the movie, in this case J.J. Abrams starts sort off trashing the game.
In an
interview to Gamer Hub, the director talked about the 3rd person
action-adventure game by Digital Extremes, as something that hurt him and the
movie.
“To
me the video game could have been something that actually really benefited the
series and was an exciting, fun game with great gameplay and instead it was not
and was something that I think, for me, emotionally it hurt, because we were
working our asses off making the movie and then this game came out and it got,
this isn’t even my opinion, it got universally panned and I think that it was
something without question that didn’t help the movie and arguably hurt it.”
Personally,
I already know that games based on movie tend to be bad so I just avoid them.
