While at the Toronto Film Festival, actor Benedict Cumberbatch gave an interview to The Telegraph in which he talked about the rumor that he has been cast in the upcoming J.J. Abrams’ Star Wars movie.
"This
is the simple truth. J.J. and I have worked together before. I would love to
work with him again. No offer has been made. That is that. And that is
that."
He
then added:
"Of
course I’d love to do Star Wars and work with JJ Abrams again because we had
such a good time on Star Trek. But nobody has been cast and there are no offers
out to anyone apart from the regulars who are returning. So that’s that rumor
quashed…We’ll have to wait and see."
Well
for someone that isn’t in connected to the movie he seems to know a lot about
it, I mean it isn’t a secret that Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher and Harrison Ford
might return to their original roles in franchise, but neither Abrams,
LucasFilms or Disney have officially released a statement saying that they
will.
One
other thing, I know that its good thing to keep a door or window opened, but if
he isn’t going to appearing in the movie or if he just wants to mislead the
press, wouldn’t it be better to just say no.
