Many
surprises were revealed at this Comic-Con, one of which was a Superman – Batman
movie. The news was announced by Zack Snyder and given by actor Harry Lennox,
who read an excerpt from Frank Miller’s The Dark Knight Returns. After he finished
the lights went out and a Superman/Batman logo appear.
At the
moment Snyder and David S. Goyer are writing the film and not much else is
known about the project, but according to Batman on Film, the next Batman will
be much older than previous ones. The rumor is that Warner Bros is looking to
cast an actor to play Batman that is in his mid-40s.
Although
a rumor, it’s not that farfetched to think that the new Batman is more aged
than his predecessors, I mean, Christopher Nolan has said more than once that
his Dark Knight trilogy were isolated from the rest of the DC Universe, so it
stands to reason that this new Batman can be a more mature crime fighting
veteran.
If
this is true, that means that neither Christian Bale nor Joseph Gordon-Levitt will
be playing either Batman or Robin/new Batman. And don’t forget, rumor also as Joseph
Gordon-Levitt being eyed to play Doctor Strange in the upcoming adaptation (see here).
