While talking to Creative Screenwriting, writer Scott Frank best known for his work on the 2002 Minority Report
and 2013 The Wolverine said that he's rewriting the Assassin's Creed movie with
Michael Fassbender.
“I’m rewriting Assassin’s Creed right now, and what I love about it is
that I’ve never adapted a video game before and it has its own set of
challenges. Especially in the world of rewrites, I love trying to do something
completely different if I can.”
Ubisoft still controls some of the key element's of the movie's creative
direction, but besides Fassbender and Frank attached to the project there isn't
any word on a director or more cast.
Assassin's Creed follows “bartender
who is captured by a secret corporation with ties to the Knights Templar, and
learns his ancestors were trained assassins. He's sent back in time to retrieve
historical artifacts.”
Assassin's Creed opens on May 22nd, 2015
