NBC has hired 30 Days of Night and The Twilight Saga: Eclipse director David Slade to helm the upcoming pirate series Crossbones, starring John Malkovich as pirate Edward Teach, aka Blackbeard.
Crossbones
will focus on Blackbeard and will be set in 1715 on the island of New
Providence, a place that pirates, thieves and outlaws call home.
Crossbones
doesn’t have a pilot, it was order to be turned straight in a series, and it
will premiere on NBC’s midseason.
