In the
upcoming new season of Sherlock, Benedict Cumberbatch (Sherlock) and Martin
Freeman (Dr. Watson) are in dire need of a new villain, because Moriarty sort
of shot himself in the face.
Worry
not, producer Sue Vertue posted a tweet with a picture and a name of the new villain.
Charles Augustus Magnussen, is the name and he will be played by actor Lars
Mikkelsen.
Now I
know what you’re going to say, “there isn’t a Charles Augustus Magnussen in the
Sherlock books, but there is a Charles Augustus Milverton, aka king of the
blackmailers”, and would be right. Although not much else is known regarding
the villain, a part of his face and name, he will probably be the same
character but with a twist, or not… the plot thickens.
The new
season of Sherlock premieres in the UK later on this year and early in 2014 on
the US.
