Fox
announced today that it has made a commitment to release a pilot for the adaptation
of Alan Moore’s graphic novel League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. Fox describes
the show has;
“A
drama series based on Alan Moore’s critically and commercially successful
graphic novel series about a group of Victorian-age literary characters,
including Captain Nemo, the Invisible Man, and Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, who
team up to fight a common enemy.”
The graphic
novel was previously adapted by Fox in 2003 and it was a complete and utterly
flop. Fox’s adaptation will count with Heroes and The River showrunner Michael
Green as writer, executive producer and showrunner. Erwin Stoff (The Matrix) is
also producing.
Now,
not trying to kick someone when they are down, but the 2003 was hideous so let’s
hope that they go for a different route.
