A
while ago there was some talk that the days of Robert Downey Jr. playing Iron
Man were over, but fear not he is coming back.
Talks
with the studio began about six weeks ago and now its official Downey Jr. is
coming back to the team for another two films. Joss Whedon the director even
said that if Downey wasn’t on board for the upcoming Avengers films, than he
didn’t wanted to make them.
Downey’s
contract ended earlier than everyone else’s because, first he has been making
Marvel films the longest and second because when he signed in for Iron Man,
Marvel didn’t have the 9 pictures deal that they now have.
BUT…
although Robert Downey Jr. is coming back as Iron Man in the upcoming Avengers
2 and 3, another Iron Man solo film is not in anyone’s radar and if they do
decide to make Iron Man 4, than Marvel need to choose another actor, since
Downey Jr. only sign for two films.
