Spike Lee is remaking Oldboy

Spike Lee is going to adapt Oldeuboi or Oldboy from Chan-wook Park which was also adapt from a comic by Nobuaki Minegishi. In the original movie Oh Dae-Su the main protagonist is kidnapped and imprisoned for 15 years. One day he is suddenly released, only to find that he ust find and kill his captor within 5 days.

Official Synopsis for the remake

OLDBOY is a provocative, visceral thriller that follows the story of an advertising executive (Josh Brolin) who is abruptly kidnapped and held hostage for 20 years in solitary confinement. When he is inexplicably released, he embarks on an obsessive mission to discover who orchestrated his bizarre and torturous punishment only to find he is still trapped in a web of conspiracy and torment.

Directed by Spike Lee he film also stars Elizabeth Olsen and Sharlto Copley. Oldboy is schedule to hit theaters later on this year on October 11^th.
